CARES Act – Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF)
Del-Mar-Va Beauty Academy has signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification
And Agreement for the HEERF grant. The grant will be received in two parts, the first half ($54,423.00) will be distributed to Title IV eligible students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
The number of students receiving the HEERF grant is 34. The grant will be divided equally to Title IV eligible students in attendance during the COVID-19 shut-down (each student will receive $1600.00 to $1601.00)
The grant is intended to assist students with expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (including eligible expenses under a student’s cost of attendance such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care). We instruct the students to use these funds for this purpose. The funds will not be applied to any student’s account balance with the school.
The second half of the grant is intended to assist the school with expenses related to the disruption of campus activities by the Coronavirus Emergency. These funds will be used for technology required for social distancing, personal protection equipment and supplies, and other expenses related to providing instruction during the emergency.
