Compensation for entry level Nail Technicians on Delmarva is:
- Minimum wage or minimum wage plus commission
- Straight 50% commission
- Booth rental (self-employed at a salon belonging to someone else

Licensing Requirements for Maryland students
- Must complete 250 hours
- Must take and pass the State Board Examination (theory & practical)
With a score of 75% - Must be at least 17 years of age
- Must be a United States Citizen or hold a green card
- Must have completed the eighth grade
- Criminal convictions may affect a student’s ability to be licensed.

- Must take and pass the Delaware State Board examination (theory & practical) with a score of 75%
- Must be at least 17 years of age
